Everything about Ozu you need to know:

Donald Richie's critical work about Ozu is without doubt one of the finest film/director books on the market. There is not one aspect of Ozu's works that is neglected as the author examines, style, technique, narrative, auteurism and editing. You definately get the sense that this work is a labour of love. On the downside, I felt that on occasions, Richie could have been a little more objective, but this does not detract from the fact that this is a stunning book, about a stunning director.
